Wastwater

Wastwater is the deepest lake in England at around 78 metres. In the deepest part of the lake lie three Catalina flying boats that were scuttled during the war years. The backdrop to the lake is formed by the Wastwater screes, along which runs a footpath a few metres above the water level. At the far end of the valley can be seen Great Gable.
