South Lakes
Little Langdale Valley

The lesser known of the Langdales the Little Langdale Valley is as equally impressive as its Greater sister. Surrounded by fells such as Wetherlam, as seen to the right of the nearby tree, the pass of Wrynose begins its dramatic journey here (with gradients of 1 in 3), dropping down to Cockley Beck and eventually Eskdale beyond Hardknott Pass. Head the other direction, towards the less imposing east and the hamlet of Skelwith Bridge will be reached, 3 miles from Ambleside.
