South Lakes
Grasmere - Loughrigg Terrace

One of the finest views of Grasmere can be seen from Loughrigg Terrace, which looks down onto the mere and the village of the same name. Helm Crag sits at the far end of vale, next to Dunmail Raise - the pass that drops down to Thirlmere and Keswick. A pleasant days walk can be made, taking in this view, by walking around the periphery of Loughrigg Fell. The walk, passing Rydal Water and Elterwater also, is about 7 miles long, and contains some of the most stunning scenery the Lake District has to offer.
