South Lakes
Brackenfell & Grasmere
An excellent view of the village and of the mere of the same name can be achieved from Brakenfell, just to the east of the village. This fellside and small woodland further down, sits just above Dove Cottage - home to the Wordsworth’s so could well have been a popular place for William and Dorothy to come and admire the views. The land is now owned by the National Trust, and, like many other National Trust owned land, is open to public access.
