Western Lake District
Fleetwith Pike
The steep walk up the side of Fleetwith Pike (2126ft/648m) results in spectacular views down the Vale of Lorton looking across the lakes of Buttermere and Crummock Water in the distance. The fells to the left of the valley include Red Pike, High Style, High Crag and Haystacks; the latter famed for being Alfred Wainwright's favourite. The northern fells rise to the right being intersected by Newlands Pass, which continues over and into Newlands Valley near Keswick.
