Western Lake District
Eskdale Mill

Eskdale Mill in the village of Boot dates back to before 1600 and is situated in perhaps the most dramatic valley in the Lake District. Still operational today there is an intriguing exhibition of the milling process and the workings of the unique wooden machinery.

The mill was bought and restored by the County Council back in 1972.
