Lake District Peninsulas
Rampside
The pier at Rampside extends out into the Irish Sea from the shore. Rampside is a small village on the most southerly tip of the Cumbrian mainland. It is not the most southerly point in Cumbria however - this claim to fame goes to the point of land at the end of Walney Island, which, as its name suggests is an island lying nearby just off Barrow-in-Furness.
